Justification
Bergeranthus nanus is a range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (E00) of 1642 km². It is known from seven locations and is potentially threatened by overgrazing.

Description
It occurs in exposed intrusive dolerite sills in nama karoo and montane grassland, 1173-1800 m.
Threats
This species is potentially threatened by livestock grazing and trampling.
Population

It was previously a poorly known species, but extensive field surveys of the mountains around Graaff-Reinet and the Great Winterberg Mountains from 2007-2012 encountered a number of previously unrecorded subpopulations. It is now know from seven distinct subpopulations. The population is not suspected to be declining, but may be impacted if grazing pressure increases.
