Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 10 912 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 40 km². It is known from nine subpopulations but a few more as yet undiscovered subpopulations are likely to exist. It faces no significant threats and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It is endemic to the mountains of the Western Cape, South Africa, occurring from the Cederberg and the Cape Peninsula eastward to the Riviersonderend Mountains.
