Justification
This fynbos endemic is widely distributed with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 47 395 km². It is known from between 25 and 30 subpopulations and currently faces no threats. Therefore, it is listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa and extends from the Langeberg near Swellendam in the Western Cape province to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape province.

Description
It occurs in montane fynbos or on flats along the coast.
Threats
Agriculture and urban expansion are severe past threats throughout this species' range. It mostly remains on the high mountain slopes.
