Justification
This is a poorly known mountain species often confused with the more widespread and common Geissorhiza bolusii which occurs in similar habitats in the Cape Mountains. Few mature individuals of this species are known. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 6160 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 48 km². It does not face any threats and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It is endemic to the Western Cape province, South Africa, and is found in the Groot Winterhoek Mountains and the Koue Bokkeveld to the mountains around Franschhoek.

Description
This species occurs in damp shady sites in mossy banks, cracks in cliffs, rocky ledges or under boulders.
