Description
Tall, open woodland on semi-arid rocky dolomite slopes, found in shaded as well as exposed sites.
Threats
This species is confined to a small area on dolomites at the summit of Abel Erasmus Pass, which is communally owned and severely overgrazed and over-utilised for firewood to such an extent that all woody shrubs and trees of this former bushveld area have been converted to grasslands. Over time, even the grasses have become very scarce so that now only unpalatable herbs and shrubs remain.
Population

It occurs as small, scattered colonies througha very restricted area; all are affected by severe habitat degradation, and therefore there is only one location.
