Justification
Eriospermum lanuginosum is a range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 5605 km². It occurs at between 10 and 15 locations and is declining due to habitat loss to crop cultivation.

Description
It occurs in deep sandy soils in fynbos.
Threats
This species has lost habitat to crop cultivation on the Bokkeveld Escarpment, Gifberg and in the Olifants River Valley, and habitat loss continues.
