Justification
Trachyandra aridimontana is a range-restricted Richtersveld endemic, known from three locations. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 405 km². The majority of the subpopulations are severely threatened by livestock overgrazing and trampling. Illegal collecting for the horticultural trade is also causing decline. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion B.

Threats
Trachyandra aridimontana is threatened by illegal collecting for the horticultural trade, a whole subpopulation was removed within the past five years by collectors. Livestock overgrazing and trampling is also a severe threat throughout this species range - plants are browsed down to small stumps and are unlikely to survive in the long term.
Population

Subpopulations are typically small.
