This is a widespread, but rarely recorded taxon. It is not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

Description
It occurs in forest margins.
Population

The type subspecies is known from scattered collections and appears to be uncommon throughout its range. Subspecies vulgaris is much more common and widespread, and occurs in a variety of habitats (Excell 1961).
