Threats |
This species has lost some habitat to timber plantations in the northern part of its range in the past, but remaining habitat is protected, and habitat loss is no longer a threat. Alien invasive plants are however present within the habitat across the species' range, and one subpopulation occurring on the edge of a timber plantation is being impacted by dense, spreading infestations of wattles, pines and hakeas. Ongoing clearing and management of alien invasive plants is required to prevent this highly localized species from being outcompeted in its native habitat. |
Population |
This species has a limited distribution range, and occurs in several small, scattered stands of fewer than 50 mature individuals. There are two subpopulations, the northern subpopulation is suspected to be declining due to dense alien plant infestations, with some dead plants observed in this subpopulation (N. van Berkel pers. obs. 2015). The second subpopulation, further south, also has alien plants present in the habitat, but these are being cleared (D. Turner pers. obs. 2014).
