Threats
At Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond, this taxon is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to coastal development. It has lost habitat to timber plantations in the Highlands area above Kleinmond in the past, and continues to be threatened by spreading alien invasive plants in some areas close to plantations.
Population

This taxon has a restricted range, but is known from a large number of records. Many collections indicate it to be locally common. Subpopulations along the coast are declining, but those in the Kogelberg Mountains further inland are not threatened.
