This species is endemic to a small area on the western edge of Bushmanland, between Gamoep and Kliprand.
Habitat and Ecology
Major system
Major habitats
Succulent Karoo
It occurs on rock ledges and gravel slopes in granite outcrops in succulent karoo.
There are no known threats to this species. It occurs in a remote area where human impact on the environment is low.

This species is known from only a few collections, representing four subpopulations. It is a localized habitat specialist, and subpopulations are small. It is likely to be more common than records suggest as its distribution range remains botanically relatively poorly explored. As there are no severe threats, the population is not suspected to be declining.
