Description | Flats and gentle slopes with loamy soils and sparse quartz gravel. |
Threats |
Threatened in the past by severe overgrazing by livestock, however, many stock farms in the western Little Karoo are now being converted to game farms. Octopoma species are also browsed by game, and in cases of overstocking, subpopulations have been decimated by browsing game (J.H. Vlok, pers. obs.). |

Locally common, but restricted to a localized, specialized habitat.
