Threats |
This species is threatened in parts of its range by habitat degradation due to severe overgrazing, causing trampling and erosion. Its habitat in Namibia is well-protected and it is not threatened. |
Population |
Overgrazing affects a small proportion of this species' range in the western parts of the Richtersveld, but even in areas such as Helskloof where overgrazing and degradation is very severe, it is still fairly common. Subpopulations further east are in more remote and inaccessible areas are stable.
