Justification
This species is known from one site (EOO <1 km²), where there are fewer than 250 mature individuals. This species is potentially threatened by groundwater extraction. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion D.
Distribution
Endemism
South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape
Range
It occurs in the Little Karoo, Rooiberg.

Threats
This species has no current threats, but is potentially threatened by groundwater extraction. A proposed water extraction project was abandoned in 2001 due to the potential risk to this extremely rare and localized species, but as demand for water increases, commercial interests may outweigh conservation concerns.
Population

There is no information available on the population of this species.

Population trend
Stable
Conservation
The population occurs on privately owned land and has no formal protection.
