Justification
Cromidon decumbens is a widespread, but rare and localized species. It has no severe threats, and is therefore not suspected to be in danger of extinction and is listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and is widespread in the Northern, Western and Eastern Cape, where it occurs from the Hantam region around Calvinia southwards along the Roggeveld Escarpment, and from there eastwards along the Nuweveld Mountains to the Sneeuberg Complex near Graaff-Reinet.

Description
It is localized to sheltered places under overhanging rocks.
Threats
There are no severe threats to Cromidon decumbens as it occurs in an area with low human impact on the environment. Livestock farming, the main land use within its range, is unlikely to impact this species, as it occurs in a microhabitat that is inaccessible to grazing animals.
Population

Subpopulations are small and localized. Herbarium specimen notes indicate that it is uncommon. The population is not suspected to be declining.
