A range-restricted species (EOO 143 km²), known from two subpopulations, but is not threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

This species occurs from Gamkaberg to the northern foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains near Camfer.
