Description
Rocky slopes in mountains.
Threats
Livestock is allowed to graze within the Richtersveld National Park (Jordaan and Van Wyk 2005) and some areas, particularly those accessible by roads and close to settlements are severely overgrazed. Manulea species are palatable (Van Breda et al.) and may potentially be affected by overgrazing. It occurs mostly in more remote, mountainous areas where grazing pressure is at present not severe, but it may increase in future as grazing on the flats and closer to settlements are increasingly degraded.
Population

This species is rare, occurring sporadically in small subpopulations along the central mountains of the Richtersveld. In Namibia, it is also known from only a few records, but may be overlooked as its range is botanically poorly explored.
