Justification
Selago rigida is endemic to Roggeveld and Western Karoo, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 16 799 km². This species is known from more than 10 subpopulations and can survive in disturbed sites. It is therefore not considered threatened and is listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found on the Bokkeveld Plateau and Roggeveld Escarpment to Nuweveld Mountains.

Threats
There are no significant threats to this species. It is noted to occur in disturbed sites.
