Justification
Known from a very small range (EOO 55 km²), from three locations. More than 50% of its EOO has been transformed for crop cultivation. It is also suffering continuing decline in habitat quality due to alien plant invasion and the recent introduction of ostriches.

Description
Shallow shale-derived soils on stony slopes.
Threats
Expanding crop cultivation (wheat and vineyards) has led to a 50% reduction in this species' Extent of Occurrence and habitat loss is ongoing. Plants remaining on small fragments are threatened by overgrazing and trampling by ostriches and competition from alien invasive plants, with coastal areas being particularly densely invaded.
