Justification | A species endemic to the Little Karoo, it has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 76 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 26-34 km², less than 10 known locations continue to decline due to habitat loss to urban expansion around Barrydale, quarrying, and trampling by livestock. It therefore qualifies for listing as Vulnerable under criterion B. |

Threats |
Plants on the urban edge of Barrydale are threatened by ongoing habitat loss to development. Some plants have been lost in the past to gravel mining for road construction, and this threat is continuing sporadically with road upgrades and maintenance. Some subpopulations are threatened by grazing and trampling by livestock. |
