Justification
This dwarf succulent was first described in 1812 as Mesembryanthemum fibulaeforme by Haworth and in 1922 renamed by N.E. Brown. The original material was introduced into the United Kingdom by F. Masson in 1795 and died out of cultivation soon after. Based on the very limited description (truncate, much depressed, immaculate, grey, hoary, Autumn / Winter flower) there are several candidates for it identify with, including Conophytum bolusiae. However, no additional information, including the locality, is available to establish the identity of this with any certainty. Given the uncertainty over this taxon, an assessment of Data Deficient is considered the most appropriate category.
