Justification
This dwarf succulent was originally described in 1937 by L. Bolus. It is known from two separate collections made in the 1930s. While there is no living material in cultivation, the original description and preserved Type material at the Bolus Herbarium in Cape Town provide some details. The localities given are, however, either vague ('Little Namaqualand') or are subject to debate. Despite many searches by numerous individuals the plants have not been seen in habitat since the the 1930s. An affinity with another species in the genus has been suggested but not yet proven. Given the lack of information regarding the plants in habitat, the most appropriate category is Data Deficient.
