Justification
This recently described species is known from a single site above the farm De Boom in the Koue Bokkeveld. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 10 km². It has no known threats and is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

Description
Plants grow on damp sand derived from Table Mountain Sandstone as well as stream banks in wet moss, 1270 m.
Threats
This species has no known threats.
Population

Field surveys in 1998 and 2005 indicated that the species was locally quite common. It is also highly likely to occur elsewhere in the rather poorly explored Koue Bokkeveld Mountains (Galley and Linder 2006).
