Justification
Pentameris ecklonii is a range-restricted species, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 144 km², and area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from fewer than five locations and is declining due to ongoing habitat loss. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criterion B.

Description
It occurs in sandy soils in arid fynbos.
Threats
Pentameris ecklonii has lost 55% of its habitat to wheat, vineyards and citrus cultivation, and habitat loss continues.
Population

This species is extremely rare, and was last recorded in 1991. Field surveys are needed to relocate it in the wild.
