| This species is threatened by ongoing habitat degradation as a result of trampling and soil erosion due to overstocking of livestock on the South African portion of the Richtersveld, particularly in areas such as Cornellskop, Numees and on Helskloof Pass. |
Population |
This species occurs in large subpopulations and is not grazed (Van Zyl 2000). It is widespread and common across southern Namibia, but has a restricted range in South Africa.
