Ehrharta bulbosa is a widespread and common species. It is threatened in parts of its range, but not yet in danger of extinction. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 81 146 km², and is listed as Least Concern.

Description
It occurs on flats and lower slopes, 50-1000 m.
Threats
Subpopulations on flats are threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation due to urban and agricultural expansion. About 16% of its habitat is already irreversibly modified. Some subpopulations are also threatened by competition from alien invasive plants.
