Range
This species is endemic to the high mountains of the Eastern Cape interior in South Africa, including the Sneeuberg Range near Graaff-Reinet, the Stormberg near Molteno, and the Suurberg Range on the border of the Northern Cape south of Noupoort.

Description
It occurs on rocky slopes and cliffs in high-altitude montane grassland.
Threats
This species has no significant threats. It is common in montane areas where there are few competing land uses.
Population

Recent field surveys (2005-2010) recorded more than 30 subpopulations of Delosperma lootsbergense. It is locally common, and as it has no severe threats, the population is assumed to be stable.
