Threats |
Threatened by habitat loss to coastal development, afforestation and crop cultivation, however, most of this loss has taken place in the past and current rates of forest transformation are very low. This species' main current threat is habitat degradation due to invasive alien species. |
Population |
This species is known from a restricted area and only a few collections. It was only recently separated from the widespread P. obovata (Manning and Goldblatt 2012), and may still be found to be more common than records indicate. Only five locations are currently known, but there are likely to be more.
