This species has a restricted distribution range in the Northern Cape Province, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) 1,072 km². It has no threats and is not in danger of extinction, therefore it is listed as Least Concern.

Description
It grows in sandy areas between rocks or in cracks of rocks in dry Mountain Fynbos.
Threats
The major threat to plants in Gifberg and Pakhuis is agriculture. This species however occurs in sheltered sites (between rocks or in cracks of rocks) and is unlikely to be affected by this threat.
Population

This species seems to be uncommon and is only known from a few herbarium collections. No population data are available.
