Range | Vanrhynsdorp to the Biedouw Valley. |
Habitat and Ecology |

Description | Deep sandy soils. |
Threats |
Within this species' known range, there is ongoing loss of arid fynbos occurring on deep sandy soils due to expansion of rooibos tea cultivation. H. conica is however a somewhat weedy annual, and readily colonises abandoned croplands. Notes on some collections indicate it to be a dominant species in fallow crop fields, and therefore agricultural expansion is not considered to be a severe threat to this species. |
Population |
This species is very common, and the population is not declining.
