Justification
This species is endemic to the Richtersveld and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2379 km². It is known from fewer than five locations and declining due to livestock overgrazing and trampling and habitat loss to open-cast mining. It is therefore assessed as Endangered under criterion B.

Description
Plants grow in karroid hills.
Threats
This species is threatened by overgrazing and trampling by livestock. Its entire range is within communally owned areas which are increasingly being overstocked. In addition, its habitat along the Orange River is being lost to open-cast mining.
