Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 2500 km² and five locations are known. One location is threatened by alien Eucalyptus invasion from a nearby plantation, and the others are declining due to livestock grazing and trampling. It is therefore assessed as Endangered under criterion B.

Description
Plants grow on renosterveld, clay with overlaying quartz pebbles.
Threats
This species is threatened by grazing and trampling by cattle. The farmer on one of the known subpopulations in Klipfontein has planted gum trees.
