Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 2200 km². Less than 10 locations are declining due to ongoing habitat loss to rooibos tea cultivation around Clanwilliam. It therefore qualifies as Vulnerable under criterion B.

Description
Plants grow on arid succulent fynbos on rocky sandstone slopes.
Threats
It is threatened by agriculture, particularly rooibos tea farming in the Clanwilliam area, Nardouwsberg and Pakhuispass. Wheat farming and wine farming is a threat at the Riebek Kasteel locality (Domitilla Raimondo, pers. obs. 2006).
