Justification
Cynoglossum obtusicalyx is a widespread, but rare and poorly known habitat specialist. It is possibly overlooked, and as it has no severe threats, it is not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and it occurs from Calvinia southwards to Ceres, and eastwards to Beaufort West.

Description
It is localized to screes below cliffs in mountainous areas.
Threats
There are no known threats to Cynoglossum obtusicalyx.
Population

This species is a rare and localized habitat specialist (Retief and Van Wyk 1996). There are very few records, scattered over a large area, but it is possibly overlooked, as its range is botanically poorly explored. The population is not suspected to be declining.
