Justification | A range-restricted endemic to the eastern parts of the Fynbos Biome, it has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 7306 km², but is a very common species, and is known from at least 30 locations. It is not yet in danger of extinction and is listed as Least Concern. |

Threats |
Aristea ensifolia has historically lost about 20% of its habitat to forest clearing for timber and establishment of exotic plantations. Indigenous forests are now protected, and there has been no ongoing habitat loss over the past 30 years. Some subpopulations are threatened by competition from alien invasive plants. |
