This montane species has a restricted distribution to the western half of the Western Cape, where it is not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species is restricted to the mountain slopes of the Western Cape Province, where it occurs from Olifants River and Cederberg to the Piketberg, through to Du Toits Kloof and Kogelberg.

Description
It grows on stony sandstone slopes, at 300-1000 m.
Threats
This species has no known threats. Its habitat is in remote mountainous areas that are mostly formally protected. However the low-lying areas are likely to be threatened by agricultural expansion.
Population

No quantitative population data is available for this species. However, during field surveys it was noted as common in suitable habitat, which happens to be usually rather inaccessible. Population is not suspected to be declining.
