Assessor(s)
L. von Staden
Justification
This Western Cape endemic has a restricted range, with extent of occurrence (EOO) of 2977 km². This species is declining due to habitat loss to coastal development and alien plant invasion. It is, however, estimated to remain at between 10 and 20 locations and is not severely fragmented. It is therefore assessed as Near Threatened under criterion B.

South African endemic
Provincial distribution

Threats
At least 3% of this species' limestone and strandveld fynbos has been lost to coastal development and agriculture between Struisbaai and Still Bay. There is slow, sporadic ongoing loss, but more concerning is the fact that this species' habitat is densely infested with alien invasive plants that are outcompeting native species.
