Range | It is endemic to South Africa, and occurs along the northern foothills of the Swartberg mountains, locally in the Kammanassie mountains of the Little Karoo, and in the Long Kloof to the south in the vicinity of Joubertina. |

Population |
It is found at 11 subpopulations. In 1959, 1983 and 1985, it was recorded as locally common, however, recent records do not give an indication of population size. The population is inferred to be stable.
