Justification
This species is known from two collections in a restricted range. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 66 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is not threatened, and is listed globally as Least Concern. Nationally, it is listed as Rare.

It is endemic to South Africa, and is found in the southern KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg at Upper Polela Cave and Sani Pass.

Description
It occurs in Drakensberg alpine tundra, in damp sedge mats in streamlines, rock-flushes and wet gravely areas.
Threats
There are no apparent threats to this species, and it has not lost any habitat.

It is known from two subpopulations in the KwaZulu-Natal. The population is inferred to be stable.
