This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 12 306 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 76 km². It is known from between 11-14 subpopulations, and is not threatened. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, extending from the slopes of the Hantamsberg at Calvinia through the Roggeveld in the western Karoo, Northern Cape, to the high country between Whitehill and the Rooihoogte north of Koo in Western Cape.

Description
It occurs in rocky sites with thin soil, often in dolerite outcrops.

This species has no known threats.
