Justification
This is a range restricted habitat specialist with an extent of occurrence (EOO) and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 8 km². It is known from only two subpopulations, and it is not threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

It is endemic to South Africa, and is known from two populations in the southern Drakensberg in Eastern Cape, at Naude's Nek and to the southwest above Mhlahlane Forest Reserve near Mthatha.

Description
It occurs in wet depressions and marshy areas below dolerite rocks.
Threats
This species faces no threats.
Population
