Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 5322 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 28 km². It is known from seven subpopulations, but does not appear to be under threat. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and extends from high elevations in the Hantamsberg near Calvinia through the Roggeveld to Verlatekloof in Northern Cape.

Description
It occurs in seasonal marshes and seeps, often among dense Bulbinella vegetation.
Threats
This species has no known threats.
Population

It is known from seven subpopulations. In 1983, it was recorded as being common in very wet sites, and in 2007, it was recorded as being widespread but rare. Records do not give an indication of this species' population size and the population trend is presently unknown.
