Justification
This species is restricted to a small area in Pondoland, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa and is known from only one location. The population is small, with about 200 individuals, and it is not suspected to be declining. Therefore, it is listed as Endangered under criterion D.

This species is endemic to the Pondoland region in southern KwaZulu-Natal, known only from the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve.

Description
It occurs on moderately steep quartzite slopes, in open damp grassland and along forest margins.
Threats
There are no known threats to this species as it occurs in a protected area that is well managed.
Population

The population size is estimated to be about 200 individuals. The population is not currently declining, but could decline in future if alien invasive plants currently present in its habitat are not controlled.
