A range-restricted Cape endemic with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 14 949 km², this taxon is not threatened and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This taxon extends from the Bokkeveld Mountains northwest of Nieuwoudtville through the Roggeveld south into the Klein Roggeveld in Northern Cape and locally in the Voetpadsberg east of Touws River in Western Cape.

Description
It occurs in sandy, stony ground.
Threats
There are no known threats directly affecting this taxon. However, some parts of its range near Nieuwoudtville have been irreversibly transformed by infrastructure development and agriculture.
Population

It is known from at least 20 subpopulations, and although the current population size is unknown, it is inferred to be stable.
