This restricted range species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 4 km². It is known from only one site. It is not threatened, and is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

It is a poorly documented and is a very narrow endemic restricted to southern Namaqualand near Bitterfontein in Western Cape, Sputh Africa.

Description
It grows on sandy banks of watercourses.
Threats
This species seems to be secure despite its small recorded range, as it grows on rocky sites in localities distant from human activity. It does not face any threats.

It is known from one location, and there is no indication of its population size. The population is inferred to be stable.
