Justification
This range restricted species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is known from a single, small population of about 30 mature individuals. It is therefore listed as Critically Endangered under criterion D.

Description
It occurs in mountain renosterveld, marshy ground in seasonal streams, seeps and shallow pools on moist, south-facing slopes.
Threats
There are no severe threats to the population. Habitat degradation due to livestock farming is a potential threat.

The population is extremely small and localized, consisting of fewer than 30 mature individuals.
