Justification
This restricted range species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is known from two locations, which fall within the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

Range
It is endemic to South Africa, and is known only from the high northern Drakensberg on the slopes below the Sentineland on the Mont-aux-Sources Plateau, in Free State and adjacent KwaZulu-Natal.

Description
