Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1,356 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 16 km². It is known from four locations and primarily occurs on slopes with no known threats. It is therefore listed as Least Concern globally according to the IUCN 3.1 Criteria but is considered Rare on a national level.

Range
It is endemic to South Africa, and is restricted to the western Karoo in Northern Cape. It is recorded only from the Hantamsberg at Calvinia and on the Roggeveld Escarpment northwest of Middelpos.

Description
It occurs on rocky dolerite or sandstone slopes and plateaus.
Threats
This species has no known direct threats. It occurs in arid areas that are not easy to plough.
