Justification
A widespread endemic of the Drakensberg, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 18 856 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 68 km². It is known from 8 to 10 subpopulations. Its habitat is well-protected and it is not threatened. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species occurs in Lesotho and in South Africa in the Eastern Cape, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg from the Sentinel to Naude's Nek.

Description
It occurs in high altitude montane grassland, in open places in wet turf and stony ground.

This species has no known threats.

It is known from between 8 and 10 subpopulations, with no reported threats. The population is thus inferred to be stable.
