Justification
This subspecies has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 247 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 36 km². It is known in fewer than five locations. It has lost much of its habitat as a result of urban development. There is ongoing loss and degradation of its habitat. It is therefore assessed as Endangered under criterion B.

It is endemic to South Africa and extends from Malmesburg and Darling to the southern Cape Peninsula and inland to the Tulbagh Valley and Franschoek Pass.

It occurs on stony sandstone ground.
Threats
This subspecies has lost 42% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) from infrastructure development in the past.
Population

It is known from between four and five subpopulations, and the population has lost a significant portion of its habitat. Based on ongoing habitat loss and degradation, the population is suspected to be declining. One subpopulation from Bergvliet Farm Constantia has gone extinct due to urban development.
